Anthem
By Ayn Rand
see relatedI am a road
I am sixteen.
I am young, I do not know everything. I barely know anything.
I know a whole lot more than you give me credit for.
Technically speaking, I am a grown woman.
I know I still wear blue mascara, converse, and I actually enjoy life, but I am a woman.
I have a voice, I have opinions. Good ones, that deserve an ear.
I have dreams, and I am going to make them happen.
No matter how long you prolong letting me grow up.
I have problems, but I have an incredible life.
I have words to say, words that need people to listen to.
Even if it's just in a normal, every day conversation.
Especially when I initiate the talking.
I need to be taken seriously.
I am a person.
I have a voice.
I just need you to listen, for once.

I know what you're saying. "adults" tend to ignore our voices...we're young, what do we know?
Maybe they've been around longer, but maybe we're more sensitive to things than they are BECAUSE we haven't been around longer.
hi---i read your "summer" blog and realized it represents your best picture yet...a picture of happiness and contentedness...it felt nice to read, thx...................and congrats on finding someone like that:)
pssss? if you go to a bigger font in your postings i'll subscribe again...it's just that the small size drives me wacky!!!
@tommytones - Yes, I know! I didn't realize how small it was until I saw it on a notebook - on a PC it's okay (or, at least mine). So, I'll definitely change it! And thank you, by the way :).
